Sonido Del Mar

We spent 11 nights in December 2025 in a two-room suite. The hotel was well maintained and well run, and every staff member was welcoming and hospitable. The cafe’s meals were delicious and beautifully put together. Laundry service was useful and quite reasonably priced for a hotel, 200p for one load and 100p for an excess load.

The hotel’s atmosphere, cleanliness, service, and location are all hard to beat. From the moment you arrive, the staff are warm and friendly. The rooms are well equipped and have natural, locally made soaps. Bistro Organico, the hotel restaurant, is one of the area’s best breakfast, brunch, and lunch spots, serving genuinely local, organic food without funky oils or processed ingredients. One of San Pancho’s gem hotels.

We had a lovely week at Cielo Rojo in San Pancho. The meals were delicious, the service was excellent, and the bedding and room were heavenly. Its location was perfect, and I was impressed by the care given to the details. I’d definitely return and have recommended Cielo Rojo to friends and family.

The little seating spots right outside the bedrooms don’t offer much privacy, since guests use the chairs to sit and read and there isn’t really another proper place for that. The rooms are close together, and the restaurant is flanked by two others. Their food smells, though delicious, and the street noise both come through the windows. San Pancho has lots of roosters too, so if you want a good night’s sleep, I wouldn’t recommend Cielo Rojo, especially a street-facing room. It’s not awful, just something to keep in mind. The hotel is cute, full of art and retro decor. I would stay again, but with more realistic expectations. The article about it in Traveller magazine, probably written years ago, had set the bar too high for what the hotel actually offers.
