What a lovely little place on a hill overlooking the ocean. We booked it for a quieter getaway off the beaten path, and Issac at the front desk was so nice. He showed us around the grounds and pointed out the pool, which is small but just the right size, and where breakfast would be served. Our room could use an update, but it was clean and well organized, with a balcony and coffee machine that made excellent coffee. Great price and friendly atmosphere, I'd recommend it.

The receptionist was very friendly, and the hotel's atmosphere is nice. But it's up a hill, so getting to the beach and back takes time, and the center is far. There aren't many restaurants nearby. Breakfast was just toast with marmalade and fruit, more like a hostel. The booking site's information was somewhat misleading, and the price felt high for what you get.

If you're after luxury, modern rooms, or a place to party, this probably isn't for you. It's a small, quiet property without crowds or nearby club music, and our room was spotless, including the linens and bathroom. The front desk staff were extremely friendly. Getting around is fairly easy: it's off the main highway, with a bus stop for the main route between San Lucas and San Jose. Stores and restaurants are a 5-7 minute drive away, and inner San Jose is 10-15 minutes away. The uphill driveway is a problem for anyone with mobility issues. Our standard room, booked through a major third-party site for me and my girlfriend, was clean but much more basic and smaller than the advertised photos suggested. It had only two outlets, one in the bathroom, and the shampoo and soap were cheap, so bring your own toiletries. Breakfast runs only from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and is light, like cereal and fruit. There's a taqueria at the road entrance with inexpensive, filling food and drinks that's worth trying. For a quiet, no-frills place within 15 minutes of restaurants, bars, and other activities, it may suit you.
