The View Hotel By Covalia

I went somewhere else after they refused to let me stay with my service animal. The booking sites and hotel website say pets aren’t accepted but service animals are, so I would never have booked if they didn’t allow service animals. The front desk said they don’t provide that service and that the rooms weren’t set up for an animal, whatever that was supposed to mean. The information was really misleading.

I stopped in about an hour ago to ask about the hotel for an event I’m planning next year, but the front desk staff were rude and sent us elsewhere. One of the two guys I spoke to just stared past me and didn’t answer. The other eventually said they cater only to executives, and gave me no other information. I never saw anything saying the hotel was only for “ejecutivos.” Our event would cater to that clientele too, but they basically turned us away. I guess I’ll go across the street. I’d give the place zero stars for those guys at the desk.

The location is great, the price is affordable, and the amenities are pretty good. The Wi-Fi, though, is terrible, which makes taking any kind of video call almost impossible.

There are plenty of amenities nearby, and you can pick up a Telcel SIM at the Oxxo next door. The hotel also has a Braai (Barbecue) by the pool, which South Africans might enjoy. The Braaivleis smell apparently drives the residents at the next-door hotel mad! Rooms are large and have kitchenettes, and the people are friendly all around. They really go out of their way to make your stay pleasant, especially José Martin at Reception. He speaks fluent english! Excellent place to stay.
