Clandestino Hotel Recreo - Adults Only

The main plaza is just a 2 min walk away. The rooms are gorgeous, and the courtyard is beautiful. The hotel staff gave me probably the most attentive service I've ever received.

Our room opened onto the patio, with a lovely balcony, and there was plenty of space. The place also felt more private and less busy than other hotels we’ve tried in San Miguel. Breakfast was included and turned out to be a highlight: the chilaquiles were made just how we wanted, with goat cheese and our choice of salsa. Every breakfast option came with coffee, juice, and fresh fruit. The staff were so friendly, and the rooftop has a beautiful view. It’s an easy walk to everything, right across from a school and plaza de toros. We had a wonderful stay at Clandestino Hotel and can’t wait to return.

We got there very early, well before check-in, and the attentive staff let us into our room so we could get some much-needed sleep. It’s a comfortable, smaller hotel. Breakfast can be brought to your room or served on the patio. You fill in a form the day before with your choices and preferred time, and there’s a lot to pick from. I had waffles with bacon and enchiladas with goat cheese, and both were excellent.

The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were caring and friendly. It’s a wonderful hotel in a nice location. We did decide to leave early because construction noise kept coming from the back of the hotel, where our room was. It may continue for a few months, so I’d ask the staff about it before booking a room at the back.
