The staff at Hotel Terracota were so polite and helpful, and the room was very clean. It’s a couple of miles from the main plaza, but I’d recommend staying here.

We’ve eaten here a few times now. The food’s good, and they give you plenty.

It’s a small place, but it’s worth a lot. The rooms are clean, and everyone was friendly. At the restaurant, 120 pesos gets you a homemade-style breakfast. I’m a Splinter operator, and I recommend it to other operators.

The bed was a bit uncomfortable, and the pillows were old and lumpy. There’s no parking either, which felt unsafe to me in Mexico. The bigger problem was the service. I’d booked through Booking.com, and when I arrived to pay, the man in the lobby, who seemed to be the owner, showed me a bill for 1,759 pesos even though my reservation said 1,463. He said he had to add 20% to the platform price because that was what they charged him. I’d never run into that at other places, so I said it didn’t seem normal. He was very rude and told me we could cancel, adding that cancellation would suit him better. I was in San Miguel for a wedding and couldn’t risk being left without a room at the last minute. Otherwise, I’d have canceled. The hotel should stick to the prices shown on booking platforms.

Breakfast was probably my favorite part. The food was delicious and carefully prepared, and the prices were very reasonable for a tourist area. The room for two was small but clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was in excellent shape. The staff were attentive and friendly, and helped with everything we asked. It seems a little far from the center, but with a car it’s just a few minutes away.
