Hotel Meson de Isabel

I came mainly for the price and location, and both worked out as I’d hoped. The front desk and restaurant staff were exceptional. The room was basic and didn’t block sound very well, though it was noisy on only one of my five nights. I’m a side sleeper, so the very firm mattress and thin pillows took some getting used to. I hadn’t read the reviews before comino, but read them before writing mine. Some seemed right to me and others didn’t, probably because people arrive with different expectations.

The place is clean and well kept, and the prices are good. But there’s no air conditioning or towels in the rooms, and the mattresses are very hard. Even with signs asking guests to keep quiet, people were loud at night.

The staff were extremely kind and understanding. They apologized and helped us find another hotel owned by the same person. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I was shocked to find dirty sheets with hairs on them, and I had to change hotels because the cleanliness didn’t meet my minimum standard. The place could be charming if they took better care of the cleaning.

For a young person who just needs somewhere to sleep, this could be a good option, especially at a price much cheaper than other hotels nearby. It was a good experience, but it lacks some services: there was no water during dawn and no parking lot, though they did offer solutions to those problems. If getting a full night’s sleep matters to you, I’d look elsewhere.
