Hotel Real Alameda

It has a homey feel, and the central location makes it easy to get around. Cross the street and you can stroll straight into Alameda park. For food, there's plenty in whichever direction you go. Thanks!

The included breakfast was enough for us, with two kinds of fresh fruit and juice, eggs with ham, refried beans, a couple of breads, and an omelette station. For more variety, there are plenty of other restaurants nearby. The rooms are clean and modern, and the location is great. We'd stay again.

The room layout is the big problem here. The washroom space is cramped, and the sink and mirror sit by themselves in the room, with the shower cubicle directly across from them. There's nowhere to dry off if someone else is using the sink. The toilet is separate too, behind a door, and that setup is particularly bad at night. Opening it switches on the light and fan noisily, then they shut off by themselves and leave you in the dark. The door squeaks loudly as well. If you get up during the night, all that light and noise is likely to wake anyone else in the room. The beds are comfortable, breakfast is very good, the location is excellent, and the staff are friendly, but this design flaw really hurts the rating.

We had a very quiet stay, with consistently attentive guest service and the option of daily room cleaning. The rooms were kept impeccably clean, and the beds were so comfortable we slept well. Breakfast was a real highlight, the best I've had at a hotel. There was fresh orange juice, excellent coffee, and omelets made to order right in front of you. Plenty of attentive servers helped the atmosphere, too. Hotel Real Alameda also offers tours downstairs, and there's a bar for evenings. With a park across the street and downtown sights easy to reach, it combines comfort with convenience.
