The property was so peaceful, and the pool was stunning. Organico in Tepoztlán felt like a great balance of luxury and affordability. Our room was comfortable, clean, and spacious, and the light included breakfast was delicious. Staff were patient and accommodating with our limited Spanish. They arranged taxis for us, let us keep the room past check-out, and stored our bags until our taxi to Mexico City. It’s about a 20 minute walk from downtown, and we felt safe walking even at night. I can’t recommend this place enough!

The nice parts were the friendly staff, pleasant pool and garden, and amazing view. But for this price, I expected a lot more. The bathroom is very outdated, and on the first day we had cold showers because the hot water didn’t work. At the front desk they said it takes a while to heat up, and didn’t offer another room, maybe because the problem was the same everywhere. It worked on day two. There was just one outlet in the room. We found ants by the sink and later on my pillowcase, and the patio faced an exposed pipeline. The closet was old, dirty, and moldy. No hairdryer either, even though we asked, so ladies, be aware. I’ve stayed in cheaper, more updated hotels nearby. Please update the bathroom, get a hairdryer, add outlets, fix the hot water, and get rid of the ants. This is ridiculous, and I won’t return.

The garden is nice, but that’s about all I’d praise. The bedrooms are very old, and it’s wildly overpriced. There were no outlets in the room for plugging in devices, and the wooden curtain rod was so old it took fifteen minutes to close the curtains. This place is crying out for a renovation as soon as possible.

The rooms are tiny and the place is really noisy. It feels overpriced and looks nothing like the photos, with more attention to marketing than the actual stay.

The staff were very friendly, but that was the one bright spot in a stay that felt far below the price. We paid $3,500 pesos a night for two nights, without breakfast, and the hotel charged another $800 pesos per night for our dog. I don't mind paying a pet fee, but they said the hotel was pet-friendly and didn't even provide a water bowl. The room was just like any other room. There were cockroaches crawling on the ceiling. I understand the hotel is surrounded by nature and wildlife, but it was unpleasant. The pool also looked dirty and neglected. Our room was tiny and felt old and uncared for. There were only two bathrobes in the bathroom, no towels, and the small TV didn't have Netflix or other streaming apps. Saying that Tepoztlán is for connecting with nature doesn't excuse those shortcomings. The food was poor too. My iced mocha tasted like chocolate milk mixed with water, and the fries had no flavor. Eating out would be better. The hotel is quiet and pretty, but it doesn't offer enough to justify charging luxury hotel prices. I wouldn't recommend staying here. 😓😓
