Hotel La Rienda Misión Tequillan

Pleasant enough for a weekend in this lively little town. It's only a block from the main square. Car parking is limited, off-road, and first come, first served, so it's best to arrive early and leave the car there for your stay. Worth a weekend visit. I had posted a review for the wrong hotel before. This is the place where we actually stayed.

We could walk to everything from this pretty little hotel in central Tequila, which was a big help since getting an Uber can be tough here. Taco carts, an Oxxo, souvenir shops, and tequila were all close by. The hotel itself has a lovely hacienda feel, and there’s parking on site. We had the family room with three beds, extra pillows and blankets, plus an outdoor seating area. The shower was hot, though the pressure was weak. Staff were friendly at check-in and let us in early; they also have luggage storage if your room isn’t ready yet. The walls seem thin, though. My friend and I were speaking normally when the front desk clerk knocked to say we were too loud, and it happened again the next night. We ended up whispering. I’d still stay here again.

For $50 a night, this was pretty much what I expected. The staff were friendly and the room was clean, though it could use some updating. The big plus is the location, with the main plaza only a few blocks away and lots of good restaurants, bars, and cafes nearby.

Gaby at reception was warm and professional, and the room was clean with AC. We were only two blocks from the main attractions, so it was easy to get around on foot. Parking is limited, so try to arrive before sunset.
