La Campechana, in the heart of Roma and Condesa

The room's first impression was the smell of sewer, and there's no blind over the kitchen area. We booked through hotels.com because the rating was high, but I should've checked the Google reviews and looked for another nearby place instead. A lot of the reviews seem fake.

I spent three nights here. The location was very quiet, which I liked, but the apartment needs a deep clean and a refresh. At night it smells like sewer, the shower was filthy, and the water pressure was very low. The patio door doesn't shut properly, and the smoke detector is missing. During the day, the living room was unusable for me because it had no window coverings or AC, so I had to stay in the bedroom. Its old, noisy AC blows right at your head and drips water.

The building is in a great spot, close to nice restaurants and bars, but the apartment was very dirty even after it was cleaned twice following our complaint. Dirt was wedged between the bed and mattress, there was a strange crusty substance on the counters, and the floors turned our feet black. I hope they have a serious talk with the cleaning company or replace them. We booked through Airbnb, and Santiago was communicative, but the place also needs some updating. It felt dark, the lighting was odd, and it wasn't comfortable for the amount we paid. See the pictures below.

I felt safe and comfortable here, thanks to the friendly staff and 24/7 security. The place was really clean and had everything I needed for my stay in Mexico city. Great hotel!
