I loved the courtyard's charm, and it looked even better in person than it had in the photos that made me pick this place. Everything seemed well run, and the whole hotel was clean. My room was small compared with a modern hotel, and its only window faced the shared courtyard balcony. I kept the curtains closed for privacy, so the room stayed dark. If you'll spend a lot of time in your room, it may not feel spacious or bright enough. It had everything I needed, though, and the place felt Mexican in all the best ways. I stayed for a week and adored it. The location couldn't be better, and I'll always stay here when I return to Tlaquepaque.

The hotel's location is very good, and it looks like a beautiful old Hacienda. But it needs a lot of work. Our room wasn't very clean, the sheets were stained, and the towels were badly worn. The AC was supposedly not working "at the time," and neither was the fan. There was also a bad smell from the shower and sink. I suspect there may be a nearby sewer drain or a plumbing problem. For what we paid, I expected better, or at least a cleaner room. Tlaquepaque is a beautiful place and takes pride in being a Pueblo Magico. Hotels like this raise their rates because of that, but don't provide proper service.

The rooms are dated, the towels worn, and the beds weren't comfortable for me. The AC was very loud, though the place was clean. Service is pretty limited: no room service, wake-up calls, or room turnover, but it wasn't a big deal. Everyone we met was kind and friendly, smiling and greeting us as we passed. For the price and location, I'd stay here again. It's a great spot for being close to everything, and the price is hard to beat. Just don't expect the best rooms or top service. It's not that kind of place.

The patio is lovely, and the hotel is well placed for walking to lots of restaurants and The Parian, where you can have Mexican food and enjoy mariachi music. Still, I had a bad night. Our room smelled musty, the bed was uncomfortable, and the bathroom looked really dirty.

It's a clean little hotel with lots of character. The staff were very nice, breakfast was really good, and everything is close by. Even in a busy city, it was quiet at night and easy to get a good night's sleep.
