Hotel San Francisco Tlaxcala

This place is huge. It took more than five minutes to walk from parking to the lobby through the property. The old stone facade looks out onto the main square, and inside there’s a lobby atrium with a stained glass ceiling, bars downstairs and upstairs, and a restaurant above. Staff were wonderful, and the food was good. Rooms range from rustic colonial style to more typical newer hotel rooms. There’s also a cool indoor pool, though I didn’t get a chance to use it. My mother first visited in the 90s and still loves it. All in all, a great place to stay in Tlaxcala, totally recommended.

A lovely restored old hotel right in the city center. Bars, restaurants, and shops are all an easy walk away.

All the staff were very nice and helpful, and most of the front desk staff spoke English well. I had trouble explaining at the desk that I needed help mailing postcards, though, and I don't think the restaurant staff spoke much English. It’s a little off the beaten path, so that wasn't too surprising, but be prepared. The rooms were clean, breakfast was nice, and the hotel is right on the main square. I didn't use the pool because it was a bit chilly during my stay.

A nice hotel with parking available and good valet service. There’s no air conditioning and no English spoken, but you can ask for a fan. Breakfast is free, though they charge $150 pesos.
