That mattress was unbelievably comfortable, and we enjoyed the café de olla too. We were visiting family, so the central location worked well for us, and the rooms had a fairly chic look. The phones didn’t work, though, and there’s no elevator. If nobody’s around to help when you arrive, you’ll have to haul your bags up the stairs.

I didn’t end up staying, and getting even a partial refund took almost a month. Before I paid, I asked Manager Antony for a ground-floor room because my mom couldn’t manage stairs due to health issues. He told me the room was “just around the corner,” but after paying I found out it was two floors up. The customer service was really poor, and I could go on about the bad treatment we got there. The room itself had filthy carpet, a weird smell, and tiny windows facing an electrical power post. There was no privacy in the bathroom either, since the divider was glass. This was my worst hotel experience so far. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Tulancingo, DON’T STAY HERE, go to ABE Hotel or somewhere else.
