It has a rustic feel that’s part of the charm, like Tulum before it got so trendy, and it’s inspiring. The beach location is the best, the food is exquisite, and the staff are wonderful. Other hotels may be more luxurious, but Casa Violeta is simply magical.

We had a positive stay in the violata room. The room itself was simple and comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast was a nice light start to the day. If you want more, you can add items from the restaurant menu. We also had a dedicated beach bed, with an umbrella available if wanted, and the beach club restaurant service was great. All the staff were lovely to interact with.

The setting in the jungle garden was more beautiful than we’d imagined, with lovely table decor, lighting, and ambience. The food was delicious and served family style, with a wide range of dishes, including special accommodations for our vegetarian and vegan guests. In May, our family held a rehearsal and welcome dinner at Casa Violeta for 75 people ahead of my son and daughter-in-law’s wedding in Tulum. Carla, the event coordinator, helped us plan everything before we arrived, and Giampiero, the hotel manager, worked with us once we were there. Both were professional, reliable, and so accommodating. I can’t thank them and the attentive, kind Casa Violeta team enough. It was a magical night, and everyone was fantastic.

This is about the restaurant only. My husband, toddler, and I went for breakfast and ordered two egg dishes, fruit, and drinks. The portions were quite small apart from the fruit, so we ordered bread as well. The menu listed toast with butter and jam for 80 pesos, and they first brought three pieces. When we asked for more bread, they brought one and a half pieces. We clarified that we wanted a lot of bread, then they brought another two and a half pieces with butter and jam again. We said we wanted just bread. The waiter said no problem and walked off. At the end, they’d charged us 160 pesos extra for bread with butter and jam, plus another 90 pesos for service, which hadn’t been mentioned. I don’t mind paying for what we ordered, which was bread, or for good service, but not when it’s imposed on us.

We had the place to ourselves and enjoyed a peaceful dinner with a lovely beach view. The food was delicious, the wait staff excellent, and the prices a bit lower than at other hotel restaurants nearby. Highly recommend the restaurant.
