Cielito Hotel

The front desk ladies were friendly and always smiling, which really made a difference. Our room was tastefully decorated and spacious, with a huge, very comfortable bed. The air conditioning was strong, which you really need in this hot, humid weather. The location on the main avenue is great, and I had a wonderful stay.

We moved to another hotel after our first night, but the staff still refused to refund our two week stay. We were told they had cleaned our room and replaced the dirty towels and fridge without permission, and staff blamed us for the towel stains and claimed we had insulted them. We had photos, and the manager never showed up after we waited all day, so we had to return the next day and lost more holiday time. They wouldn't show us the written hotel policy they relied on. The room they offered as an upgrade was also dirty: stained pink towels, a dirty fridge, a dusty floor, and more insects. In the first room, dead flies and dust made it feel unclean, and when I opened the bathroom bin, two cockroaches ran out. We killed one, while the other disappeared into the wall. It was after midnight, and we felt forced to accept the upgrade because we didn't know this part of Mexico. We didn't feel safe or clean enough to stay. The main doors were open all night, so theoretically anyone could walk in, and barking dogs made noise all night. We hadn't slept, and asked for a refund for the remaining two weeks because we didn't want to stay in those conditions or pay for them. The hotel refused, blaming its policy. They also blamed the pink stains on my girlfriend taking off makeup, though she hadn't worn makeup that day and had noticed the stains before showering. A hotel has a duty to provide a clean, sterile environment, especially after COVID, and we don't think we received the hospitality promised. This was the worst hotel experience I've had. It was disgustingly unclean, the staff were awful and lied, and we got no refund. Do not stay here.

After a disappointing stay elsewhere, we cancelled and walked over to Cielito. They showed us the rooms available, and the design, the space, and the size of the bed made the decision easy. We had an incredible stay, and the staff were very helpful. I'd love to come back. Fantastic!

We arrived without a booking after a bad experience at another hotel, and it was such a relief to find this place. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location is convenient for the bus station and Super Aki, where various tours start. Our room was beautiful and clean, with a comfy bed, big smart TV, and cool toilet. It's near the main street, but the noise wasn't too bad. Great choice. Don't eat at the restaurant directly underneath the hotel on the ground floor, though, it's really expensive.
