The location worked really well for us, just off the main street and about a 15-minute walk from cenote calavera. My boyfriend and I stayed six nights and were really happy with our choice. The room was cleaned every day, with fresh towels, and had great air conditioning plus a fan. The staff were lovely, especially Jose, who checked us in and made us feel at ease. It felt like a proper five-star stay and was great value. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re staying in Tulum.

The room was clean, had a small fridge, and no odors or bed bugs, which mattered after other places left me congested or had mold smells or bugs. A large grocery store, bus, ADO, colectivo and bike rental are all nearby. The staff were friendly and fixed my clogged shower head right away. You can walk to the Tulum Ruins and beach in under an hour, or take a short bike ride. There was some road noise during the day, and Saturday night got a little loud because someone was celebrating a birthday, but otherwise I can’t complain. The restaurant looked good too. Not bad for the price.

We had a very pleasant stay at this small hotel. It’s clean, modest, well run and reasonably priced, a short walk from the main street and about 10 to 15 minutes on foot to the center of town. You’ll need a taxi to reach the beach, and the view isn’t much to write home about. Trucks and cars might bother you at night. The staff were attentive and friendly, though. When a group of teens made noise one evening, the hotel apologized, gave us a refund for that night and asked them to leave.

The breakfast was so good that we ate there all three days, even though it was included. I still think about the homemade bread, omelettes, waffles and pancakes. My husband loved the waffles and pancakes so much that he had a platter of each on our last morning. The waitresses were sweet and polite, and the service was excellent. The reception staff were friendly too, and they lend out bikes at no extra charge if you want to explore. Mestizo Gallery feels comfortable after a full day out. The rooms aren’t lavish, but they’re decent, the AC works properly, and housekeeping was the best I’ve had in all my travels. It felt like a home away from home, and a great deal.
