Cabanas Tulum Beach Hotel and Spa

My daughter and I just got back from our most relaxing vacation, and The Beach Tulum hotel was a big part of it. The staff took care of everything, and our room was beautiful and had everything we needed. We also loved the spa, the daily yoga classes and instructors, and the restaurants and bar. This small boutique hotel takes customer service and satisfaction seriously. It exceeded all our expectations.

We loved the rooftop room and the stunning property, with its beachfront setting, beautiful views, and easygoing but lively atmosphere. The food was fresh and flavorful at both restaurants. Service was warm, attentive, and welcoming, with a special shout out to Nancy, Carla, Aldo, and Axel. Simon, our transportation concierge, was incredibly helpful, kind, and knowledgeable about the area. I also really enjoyed the spa, and Karime shared Mayan wisdom during our treatments. We’d absolutely return and highly recommend it.

Our room was right on the beach, with a lovely patio and plunge pool facing the palms and water. The staff were amazing. Everyone recognized us and made us feel welcome. When they learned it was my birthday, someone decorated the bed with a flower petal message and left a bottle of Cava. You can order food from either restaurant to your room or the beach without an extra charge. On the beach, staff set up or move your umbrella and bring towels, drinks, and food, so you don’t have to lift a finger. The spa is a lovely space. We had a wonderful couples massage, and the sauna, steam room, and hot tubs were included for an hour beforehand. They can connect you with an outstanding tour company for nearby ruins, cenotes, or nature reserves. This was one of our top vacations, and the hotel was a big reason we enjoyed it so much. We’ve traveled extensively around the world, so we have plenty to compare it with.

I loved the adults-only setting, central location, and delicious included breakfast. My favorite was the green chilaquiles with egg or chicken from Ziggy. The room was spacious and clean, with good air conditioning, and had a private, secluded rooftop oceanfront balcony and hot tub. Service was excellent. We also took a cooking class with Carla, who was a wonderful instructor and bartender. She shared the food’s history while teaching us three kinds of ceviche, with drinks included, for only $59 USD per person. I only tried the spa’s free hydrotherapy. I wish they offered Mayan clay therapy for mosquito bite itch relief, as well as manicures and pedicures. Maybe they will in the future 🤞. One heads-up: put on bug spray as soon as you arrive in tulum or at the hotel, since there are lots of mosquitoes in the jungle.
