I come here for the jungle and the quiet, not the beach or party scene, and I can't wait to return. I've stayed at 525 Tulum in different seasons, and my condo has always been dry, clean, and wonderfully equipped, nothing like what some photos suggest. From the pictures, it looks like those conditions followed a major storm. When flooding leaves deep puddles on the road, I wouldn't expect maintenance crews to work in unsafe conditions. Heavy rain can go on for weeks, and the water eventually filters through the karst and feeds the jungle and cenotes. That's just nature. The access road to the main highway is paved now and beautiful, though I do miss arriving beneath the jungle canopy. That jungle setting won't appeal to everyone. I had an ice machine, washer and dryer, supplies, high speed internet, TV, comfortable handmade furniture, luxury linens, a real rain shower head, heater, dehumidifier, All-Clad stainless cookware, and Breville appliances. I liked some of it so much I bought the same things for my home. Maybe some people picked the cheapest option, while I paid more and was happy with what I got. I feel bad when people condemn the whole development when they might not have researched whether their Airbnb suited their needs. A similar complaint could be made about a cenote having low water or cloudy water after rain. I suspect the jungle adventure isn't for everybody.
