Xela Tulum, a Member of Design Hotels

We’ve stayed all over the world, and rarely have I been this impressed by the service and the staff’s commitment. Jonathan, Emily, Oscar, and others went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing time. They spoiled us. The property is quiet and relaxing, with just 12 rooms. We watched sunrises from our room and beautiful sunsets from the hotel roof. Breakfast on the patio and lunch on the beach were both delicious. Kudos to the Chef for the fresh options each day. We can’t wait to return to Xela Tulum.

We were here for a wedding and had the entire resort to ourselves. It really felt like home. We stayed in the Caracol suite, which we loved for being right on the beach and easy to get in and out of. The beds were super comfy, and the food was delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, remembering our names and little details and going out of their way to make the stay memorable. They meticulously cleared seaweed from the beach each morning. It’s within walking distance of top restaurants, yet far enough away to be peaceful and quiet. We couldn’t be happier with our experience. Thank you, Xela!

The ocean sunrise is what I’ll remember most. The sun shimmering across the water was unlike anything I’ve seen, and the setting felt untouched, undeveloped, peaceful, and grounding. Xela Tulum felt special from the start, with thoughtful details and warm, genuinely five-star care. The team was kind, present, and clearly cared about each guest. Service was flawless without feeling stiff or forced. We loved the food at every meal. Everything was fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. Each dish felt made with pride and love, and dining here became a highlight of our trip. Even on departure morning, the team had breakfast boxes ready from the night before so we wouldn’t miss a meal on the way out. That thoughtfulness went well beyond what we expected. We left feeling grateful and restored, and we’re already planning to come back. This was an experience, not just a hotel.

We came for our daughter’s wedding, and everyone was treated like family. The location is excellent, the surroundings are clean and well kept, and the hospitality, food, and service are better than anywhere else nearby. Everyone was so polite. I highly recommend it, and we’ll be back very soon. It deserves more than five stars. You’ll thank me later!
