The breakfast was tasty, generously portioned, and had a distinctive Chinese style. One morning we were set to miss it because we planned to catch the first collectivo to Chichen Itza before breakfast began at 7. As we headed out at 6:45, the owner called us back and handed us two packed breakfasts and a bottle of water. Fantastic service. This lovely hostel/hotel is run by a really friendly family and sits centrally, close to the ADO, the collectivo, and town center. We had a private double room. It was basic, but good for the price, and had the air conditioning you definitely need in Valladolid.

You can find it on Booking as “Hotel y Hostal 230.” It's a great deal, with a fantastic breakfast included, and nearly all of Valladolod's points of interest are an easy walk away. The new hotel sits in a spacious, quiet backyard, and some parts are still being built. It's clean and run by a lovely, kind family. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

Perfect location, just a few blocks from el centro, and great value. The room definitely had mold, but staying a few nights won't kill you. The Chinese man who owns the place was very nice and willing to help if he could. One light in the room wouldn't turn off, though it wasn't a big deal.

The owner was nice, but that's about all I liked. The bathroom was dirty, there were strange bugs on the floor, and I found a huge cockroach in the shower. I was scared bugs might get on me overnight, so we didn't stay the night. Yes, Mexico has bugs, but we slept in other places for two weeks and never had cockroaches in the room. I can't understand how this hostel has such good reviews, and I absolutely don't recommend it.

The staff were friendly, but our room was awful. It was extremely basic, dusty, and unfinished, and it felt like the hostel was only half built. There was no bathroom window, just a hole to the outside that was great for bugs. A bedroom door opened onto a ledge with no rail or anything, which felt dangerous. Maybe the other rooms are okay; the reviews seem mixed. Just avoid the danger room!
