Jose is a very friendly host, and the rooms were comfortable and clean. It's a good little hostel for travelers watching their budget. The main square is a few blocks away, and although you're a bit farther from the main area, there are restaurants nearby. OXXO is across the road and there's a bakery around the corner.

What makes Frida hostal especially memorable is its owner, an amazing woman who welcomes everyone warmly and really looks after the guests. The rooms and shared spaces were all super clean, and the location is handy. It's about a 10-minute walk to the centre, with supermarkets nearby and La selva, a taqueria serving tasty local food at incredibly low prices. Wonderful hosts and a lovely place to stay.
