The location is convenient and the hotel has air conditioning, but rest was out of the question. Music from the restaurants below was painfully loud at night. The service was poor, and the staff seemed unfriendly. Both nights I had to ask them to get the shower working, since the water flow was weak and it stayed cold. There was never any hot water. The doors and handles are old and rusty.

The rooms aren't fancy, so I wouldn't choose this place if you expect luxury. For a basic night, though, the comfortable bed, air conditioning, hot shower, towels, soap, and enough toilet paper worked fine. The hotel sits right on the Zócalo, close to everything, but a bar downstairs has live music until 4:00 AM, apparently Thursday through Sunday and on holidays like New Year's Eve. I was warned about it and didn't take it seriously. That was a mistake, especially since I had a balcony room. Don't book one if you want to sleep.

There's a lively little bar downstairs that stays busy late. The internet was very slow, and the bathroom needs some attention: without a curtain, water splashed all over the floor.

I was unsure after reading some of the negative reviews, but the room I got had been remodeled, and both the bathroom and beds were in very good condition. It was comfortable and matched what was promised, with air conditioning. The hotel is reasonably priced, well located, and close to good restaurants. I'd come back without hesitation.
