The AC worked, and the room was at least usable, though very basic. I came for Carnaval and found the place with help from my taco. They charged more than I expected, but I could accept that given the occasion. The trouble was the 200-peso deposit for the TV and AC remotes. The TV remote didn't work, and when I asked for another, the woman took it away and then ignored me. The toilet had no rim, either. At checkout they said they couldn't find my deposit, so I kept the remote. As a foreigner, I felt they were taking advantage of me. I should've kept the other one too, since I effectively owned them. If you have any choice beyond being completely broke, don't stay here.

This is in a great central spot, close to everything, and the room was clean. For a single night it was okay, but I wouldn't stay longer. The room was stifling when I arrived, with three double beds and only sheets; one bed's sheets were stained. They gave me TV and AC remotes after taking a deposit. The bathroom is like a tiny cubby, and you have to haul your own bags up several flights of concrete stairs. At night the street was noisy, with some questionable activity.

There's a Mama Gallina right outside the entrance, which is handy. My room was 350 pesos at the time, within the budget-hotel range. The room was large and had a nice king-sized bed, though I spotted mold on the wall by the AC. It was noisy all night, with lots of Haitian and/or Cuban migrants staying there. A taxi driver recommended the place, and it's just off the main avenue, not far from the ADO terminal.

Reception needs more staff, and service needs to be faster.
