Hotel Boutique Marrakesh

Jesus Antonio, the bus boy, was the only one who showed great customer service at El Chal. My Eggs Benedict and salad were delicious, and he apologized for the poor experience. The other staff were disappointing. I ordered a café americano and a latte, asking how large the glass was so I could choose how many espresso shots would make a good proportion. I asked for three and was happy to pay extra. I also told the waiter to ask the barista to make the milk extra hot, and said I’d send it back if it came lukewarm. The latte arrived only warm, but I didn’t return it. I took a couple of sips and ordered green juice without complaining. They also forgot the yogurt with fruit I ordered and my friend’s café americano. When the check came, I pointed out that it included items we never received, and explained that I’d pay for the extra latte shots but the drink hadn’t been made as requested. They corrected the check, but the managers only stared, and neither they nor the waitress apologized. Jesus Antonio apologized for the bad experience. That kid carried the spirit of a beautiful restaurant with great food. It’s disappointing that the rest of the staff’s service was so poor.

The place is much smaller in person than the photos make it look. The pool is tiny as well, so it seems more suited to adults. My reservation said double room, but they said that just meant a room with two beds. It was supposed to fit up to five adults, yet they charged extra for the fifth.

I didn’t stay overnight, but breakfast was great. The view over Villa Corona and the lake is breathtaking in the morning and late in the evening. 😘
