The room was so bad that I couldn’t stay in it. Its window wouldn’t shut properly, and heavy traffic below made an unbearable amount of noise. It smelled strongly of sweat, there were hairs on the bed, and the toilet looked to be in very poor condition. Even the check-in area was messy and visibly dirty, with sugar packets scattered around and a coffee pot unplugged with its cable hanging loose. I knew as soon as I checked in that I couldn’t stay. We contacted Expedia right away to cancel, and they said the cancellation was acceptable on their end. The hotel manager then assured me downstairs that the booking would be canceled and Expedia would refund me within 24 hours. Nearly two months later, I still haven’t received anything. Expedia says each time I call that they need the hotel to confirm, but the hotel never answers. This has dragged out an already awful experience into a really frustrating one. Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.

Good value for a great location, and our experience was perfectly fine. The staff were easy to reach and helpful, and the room had the basics. The biggest issue is the noise. Motorcycles on the nearby street seem to accelerate around the clock. I’m used to traffic noise from living in NYC, but this was on another level and made it hard to sleep. A few easy improvements would help: electric fans in the rooms for temperature control, a soap holder in the shower instead of using the windowsill, and better pillows. The shower temperature also needs more adjustment, since it’s basically either scalding or cold.

I had no problems and could leave my suitcase downstairs while I explored the city. Just let the shower run for a little while before the water gets hot. And yes, it can be noisy, so light sleepers should keep that in mind.

Handy having an OXXO right next door, and it’s a great place to stay in Mexico City. They don’t have irons, so pack clothes that won’t wrinkle or take them to the laundry around the corner, giving at least 24 hours’ notice. Two thumbs up! 🇲🇽

We left after one night and the property never refunded the other six. The sheets were stained and dirty, the shower didn’t work properly, and there were no shutters, so daylight flooded in each morning. The windows had no insulation, which left the room very cold at night, and there was no heater. Street noise was loud too. Don’t stay here.
