There are lots of good places to eat nearby, and it’s about a 20-minute walk to the Anthropology Museum. The rooms are nice, with a little kitchen that has a hob, microwave, and fridge. Showers get warm, and there’s a TV with Netflix. Everyone I spoke to on staff was lovely and helpful.

The smell in room 2 was unbearable and gave me chest pain. The four walls were damp and stained with black mold. I’d booked for two people, but after seeing the room I had to make another reservation and move to a different hotel. I lost almost $200 because of Second Home Darwin. Please avoid this place. They kept my money and offered no solutions. I really regret choosing it, and hope booking.com stops doing business with them. The people were disgusting.

I tried two rooms on different floors, and both were damp and smelled bad. There’s a serious black mold problem, and you can hear everything because there’s no sound isolation. The staff were friendly, and the cleaning ladies did a good job.

We spent five days in CDMX and would definitely stay here again. The apartment is modern, well kept, and in a safe neighborhood. Our room was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed and clean, soft pillows. There was hot and cold water, plus a standing fan that was nice for its white noise. They also had an iron and fresh extra sheets and blankets in the closet. It’s easy to walk to restaurants, bars, and convenience stores. The host greets you at the door and was very kind, polite, and helpful. You do hear a little traffic outside, but that’s normal when you’re in the middle of a great city like Mexico. 12/10.

The rooms were clean and service was good, but I didn’t sleep well because you can hear everything. When the upstairs neighbor showered, it felt like water was falling on my face; the couple next door sounded like they were just outside my gate. A lot of the noise came from other guests. Some came back around midnight, others at 4:30 am, then played loud music and chatted. Security was helpful and reminded them, but they still didn’t keep their voices or music down at night. I don’t know if this is common in Mexican homes.
