The outdoor area by the entrance felt tacky and irritating, with loud American music and TV screens showing something unrelated. We asked them to switch it off, but staff said it was part of their service. I also found it unacceptable that the bar was closed. At a five star hotel, guests should be able to use all the facilities, including the bar. If you want a drink, you have to take it inside the lobby or out to the front. Even with those issues, the hotel itself was wonderful and the price was reasonable. Our room was huge, spotless, and very comfortable, and the bathroom was incredible, easily Dubai five star quality and one of the best I've seen in a hotel. The staff were friendly, spoke two languages, and helped with everything. When my wife got sick, they kindly brought her tea and made sure help was available if she needed medical care. We just wished we could have used more of the hotel's facilities.

The gym wasn't working while we were there, and getting in and out of the bathtub was awkward because it sits in its own little room. The room's switches and lighting were confusing too, with lights coming on when you wanted them off and some switches controlling whole rooms. Still, we had a very nice stay. The hotel and room were beautiful, and breakfast was good and fairly priced. I'd gladly stay again despite those little irritations, and would recommend it.

The restaurant was a letdown: the cooked food was poor, badly prepared, and came in small portions for a very high price. The food truck park next door is only 5-10 minutes away, so go there instead. The front desk service was somewhat gruff. The hotel is nicely decorated, though a little dated, and the rooms were huge and very clean. Our bed was comfortable and the shower pressure was good.

Every hotel employee was courteous and went out of their way to help. The service and food were both great, and the rooms are well equipped. They even have big, ample towels, which is rare and made showering feel luxurious. A lovely place to unwind. I'll definitely come back.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the service was great. But our shower was clogged, and even though I didn't tell the staff, for the price and ratings I expected better. The AC also stopped working for hours, even past midnight. If you know Villahermosa, you know how unbearable and humid it gets. That's why I can only give it two stars.
