I checked the Flying Cloud room out after reading the reviews, though I didn't stay there. I was diving at XTC and ate there. The room looked spacious and comfortable, with a decent bathroom and air conditioning, and it's about 10 steps from the diving, pool, and bar. Based on what I saw, I plan to stay there with my wife in Feb 2023. I'll update this if that changes, though I honestly doubt it.

The rooms are nicely furnished, with lots of books left by other guests. The location and view are great, and it's close to the dive shop where I did a lot of diving. There's a separate water system, better than Xcalak, and a separate generator, so the frequent power cuts don't affect you. The rooms and bathrooms are pretty old, and all the towels and sheets had stains. I understand that standards may be lower and prices higher in a small village this far away, but I still found the price too high. I wouldn't have booked here if the XTC dive center next door hadn't been the reason for my trip.

The staff were friendly and gave us clean towels, but the rooms looked nothing like the website. The walls were bare white, there was no decor, and the bathroom and floor were dirty. There were no curtains, so we had no privacy and ended up hanging a sheet over the window. The toilet kept wobbling, and the rusty tap ran brown water. Such a shame.

Jorge and the staff were excellent. It was very quiet while we visited, with hardly any other guests around.
