Hotel Expo Plaza Business and Family Guadalajara

If you’re looking for a good hotel, this isn’t it. Save yourself the headache and steer clear. It’s a dump, and I won’t set foot in this dump again.

I booked expecting a four-star hotel, so arriving was a big disappointment. The futon bed was ripped and torn, which was disgusting. There was a lot of dust and dirt behind the bathroom door, and the bathroom window wouldn’t close fully, so you could hear everyone and everyone could hear you. They advertised free Wi-Fi and a safe. Wi-Fi exists, but it doesn’t reach any room in the hotel, so it’s unusable. There was no safe at all. I definitely won’t be back.

The extra charges changed the advertised $18 nightly rate to $27 when we arrived. They also claimed the room had a safe and fridge, but neither was there. We had to get the key card replaced after it suddenly stopped working, and they made us leave the car in the blazing sun despite plenty of open spaces. The location is awkward, and the on-site logistics are poor. Our room was dirty, with stained sheets and a used toilet paper roll left in the bathroom. The nightstand had been drilled shut for no reason. The pool was dirty and freezing, and the balcony lights flickered like strobes all night. WiFi was awful despite the ads promising a fast connection. Never coming back. Don't book unless all you want is a quick f@&k and to leave.

The bed was comfortable, but that bathroom was tiny, like a matchbox. They didn't give us an AC remote or an intercom phone, so if you wanted the temperature changed, you'd have to ask someone to come into your private room with the remote and do it there. That's why I gave it two stars.
