La Maxima is part of the complex, and its drag shows seemed to be the big weeknight draw. The staff were really kind and accommodating, and the photos match what you get. It’s right by the beach in the middle of everything, so meeting people is easy and it doesn’t cost a fortune. It’s a lively spot, though, so for peace and quiet or extra comfort, you may want somewhere else. Nothing fancy, but a great stay.

Right on the beach, with great surf nearby and a nice restaurant next door. I arrived without a booking and they still took me in. The place was clean, pleasant, and had all the amenities.

The room was nice and the bed very comfortable, and Álvaro and the other woman who helped us were both so friendly and gave excellent service. The main downside was the bathroom situation. There’s a gay bar downstairs and only one bathroom, which several men used; as a woman, I had a terrible experience with how messy it was, with splashes everywhere, even on the floor. Otherwise, the hotel is fine.

The noise from nearby bars made it impossible to rest after 3 AM, and the shared bathroom with the bar had a useless shower that also served as a urinal. They cancel reservations to avoid bad reviews on Booking.com, regardless of the rewards program. There are better options, so I’d avoid this place.

Casa Demetria is right on the beach and in the middle of the party scene, so it suits a fun, low-cost trip. The rooms are basic and have no luxuries, but they cover what you need if you’re there to party. Breakfast was really tasty, the staff guys were all very kind, and the drinks were delicious and very affordable. At night the party gets going, with a DJ and a trans show while I was there.
