White Loft Hotel

There’s a good range of restaurants, cafes and eateries within walking distance, and the location is away from the tourist belt. I had a lovely weekend stay and appreciated management’s effort to make it memorable. This is a modern style hotel with a small staff and online transactions. The room and amenities are basic but enough for the price. Everything was clean and the utilities worked. Parking is in public spaces along the street, with the local council rate to pay.

Since the new management took over, the hotel has a fresh look inside and out. Prices are reasonable, and it’s close to eateries.

The bed had a stain, which was the last straw. The rooms were generally dusty, and the hallway was dim, dusty and dirty. It felt like a shady hotel, and it wasn’t cheap, either. I could have found somewhere much better. I left after about an hour, but couldn’t get a refund or an appeal through booking.com. When I told the person at the front table, who was a foreigner, that the water heater wasn’t working, he told me to push the tripped breaker up myself.

I paid over RM300, and the stay wasn’t worth it. There were bugs on the bed and quilt, the towels were very dirty, and the toilet was filthy and wobbly when I sat on it. The bathtub looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The room had only two power plugs, and neither worked. There was no shampoo, body wash, toothbrush, toothpaste or drinking water. The door also lacked an extra lock like other hotels, which made me feel unsafe. I wouldn’t recommend this place.
