Mudzaffar Hotel Melaka

The room was roomy, clean, and looked after, and I found the location handy for nearby attractions and places to eat. The stay was pleasant in that respect. The pool and parking area were disappointing and could use improvement, while the furniture felt dated for a hotel presented as five-star. Breakfast was the biggest letdown: the food was cold, the half-boiled eggs weren't prepared properly, and the kitchen staff weren't very friendly. For this rating, the experience felt average, and I hope they make improvements.

The place feels run down, which is sad to see. In the room, the temperature was around 26°C, the faucets were broken, and the carpet smelled as if it had been through a flood. Some carpet sections had visible stitching where they were patched. The room phone could only call reception. The lobby had no working air conditioning, and it was warm even in the cafe and reception area. I was told the boss had left it unmaintained since January. This hotel seems to have seen better days.

Room 428 was far below what I expected for the price. It didn't feel like value for money at all. The room was very dim, which made it feel uncomfortable and suffocating, and the bathroom was visibly dirty and poorly maintained. The faucet knob had come off, making it frustrating and inconvenient to use. Being an older hotel doesn't excuse the poor cleanliness and upkeep. Housekeeping and maintenance need immediate attention.

The staff were friendly and the service stayed excellent throughout my visit. My room was clean and comfortable, and I really liked the breakfast and cafe. The location was great too. I had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend it.
