Amnis Tiny House

The beach is only a minute’s walk from the house, and you can catch a lovely sunrise as well as a decent sunset. There was a lot of rubbish on the beach, though, which was disappointing and wasn’t Amnis’ fault. It’s typical of many public beaches on the east coast. Getting there from Jelawat town in Bachok is easy. Google Map gave a more accurate location than Waze. Entry was simple with the key box and access card. Inside was fairly clean and had plenty of useful things: a kitchen, fridge, crockery, water filter, iron, Google TV, 300Mbps Wi-Fi, and especially a washer-dryer. A tip: skip the washer-dryer cycle, which takes nine and a half hours. Regular wash followed by two hours of synthetic drying works better. Outside there’s a small pool with a section for kids, plus a barbecue pit and outdoor kitchen. The owner has strict rules about visitors, and says outside guests need permission. We got permission for my in-laws to visit. Watch out for crumbs on the floor, as ants show up quickly. The fans could use cleaning. We had a pleasant stay at Amnis Tiny House. RM480 felt a bit steep, though I understand it was school holidays and the owner wanted to make extra profit. Rates should be cheaper outside peak periods. The booking deposit was 100 ringgit.

Loved this spot 💕. It’s a great place to spend time with family, with the sound of the waves and the beach just a one-minute walk from the door. Food Panda and GrabFood can reach it too. I visited during monsoon season, unfortunately, but it was still worth the price. I’ll definitely come back ✌️

A really sweet little holiday house, and worth every penny. It’s thoughtfully set up for a vacation, with more than enough working amenities. The kitchen is especially well equipped, right down to the batu lesung, cooking oil, salt, sugar, and pans. It fits five adults and seems best for one young family or a girls’ trip, with room to gossip all around the house. It feels very private now, though another unit is being built, so that may change 😅. There are two BBQ pits, one near the beach and another by the house, plus plenty of seats for gossip sessions. If the beaches are your reason for coming, avoid monsoon season. Outside that time, it’s a gem!
