The clear stream running through the place is cool, and the jungle walk is lovely. It’s a beautiful spot to spend time in nature, though this really is a camping experience with only the basics provided. It’s a bit pricey. City folks, up for the challenge?

Staying in a tent was a great experience, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a lovely spot for a family or friends trip away from the city. I’d really recommend the morning forest walk, but watch out for leeches! The suites and facilities, including the karaoke room, could use better maintenance.

Agus was very helpful, and customer service was good. The nature hike and river crossing were fun, and everyone enjoyed them. When we arrived, though, our glamping tent was rundown, full of holes, and wouldn’t zip properly. We asked for an upgrade to a vacant villa. It was still a pleasant stay, but I hope management replaces the worn-out tent.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the nasi lemak sambal ayam was so ‘padu’, really nice 👍🏼. But the price feels far too high for what’s provided. The toilet bowl was clogged, there was a frog in the tent, lizards fell from above, and there were snails inside too. We could accept the lizards and snails, but even so, we all ended up running out of the tent. If you’re after a village experience, this is one.

I visited the site to get a first impression. The hospitality was great, and Caravan Serai seems thoughtfully built, from the paths and restaurants to the parking, places to stay, and nature trails for short hikes. The drive from Bentong takes about 30 scenic minutes, depending on your speed, or less if you’re in a hurry. There’s a huge amount of parking, enough for five or more campervans and camper trailers. City folks may appreciate the suites, and the Glamping tents feel much like resort rooms, with a closer connection to nature. Many areas are almost wheelchair friendly, and walking difficulties shouldn’t stop someone from visiting.
