Cameron Emerald Avenue 2 @ Brinchang

The location is good, and the unit itself was alright, but the building looked run down and poorly maintained. My phone signal was weak, and although there was supposed to be Wi-Fi, I suspect the Unifi bill hadn't been paid. If you stay here, check that the Wi-Fi actually works. It was also noisy, with kids running around and some foreign guests partying late into the night.

Getting to the shops is a problem since there isn't another way down. My elderly family members and the kids had to walk up a long slope while cars sped past toward the car park. It's extremely hazardous. The design is very poor, especially for anyone staying here without a car.

The location deserves five stars, and the lifts seemed to work fine, but the building itself was in poor shape. The corridors were dirty and the car park looked very slapdash, with a slope going down. There was construction on the hillside that carried on late at night. Security was nonexistent, anyone could drive or walk in. This review is about the building, since every homestay unit is different and can range from one to five stars.

The beds were nice and the place was fine to stay in, but the kitchen and bathroom weren't clean, and the parking lot looked old. The Wi-Fi barely worked for one person and stopped working with two or more. For the same price, there are much nicer places in Cameron Highlands.
