Cameron Highlands Apartment (Desa Anthurium) A21

The apartment we rented was lovely, and its general condition was good. I suppose that can depend on the guests or the caretaker and owner. What made the stay difficult was the block's common area. The staircase wasn't well lit, and if there were light switches, we couldn't find them in the dark. The steps were uneven and hazardous to walk up and down. The unit numbering was confusing too. I saw another family searching for their rental, and wondered who came up with the numbering.

It's handy to be between Brinchang and T.Rata, and the place is well maintained despite being in a pretty old building. There are no lifts, though, and like other apartments in CH it gets a bit crowded on weekends and long school holidays. There's a playground, and you can pay to rent the BBQ area at the security post. Parking is plentiful, but use the designated spaces carefully or your car could get clamped.

For the price, I expected a more comfortable stay. The place wasn't maintained well enough, the curtains were dirty and moldy, and most amenities were either missing or didn't work. It needs a lot of improvement to feel like a comfortable holiday home.

It's cheap and can fit six people or more, though the living room sofa only seats four. There isn't a lift, so getting to a higher floor takes some effort. A suitable option for budget travellers.
