Cameron Highlands Apartment (Desa Anthurium) C8

I stayed at homestay K1 for 3 days and 2 nights, and one encounter with the guard ruined it for me. I went out with my family around 2-3 pm and got back at 8:45 pm. Another family member had taken my access card in their car, so I couldn't use one then. We had received 3 cards from the owner, and I explained that mine was left in the first car. Instead of understanding, the guard kept asking for my car plate number and where the second car, under my brother's name, was in their book. He insisted I go home to get the card and bring it to him. While I was calmly explaining, he accused me of “not talking properly.” I was shocked, as I wasn't being rude. He told me to “obey the rules,” which made it sound like he thought I didn't have a card, even though I was just explaining what happened. He also assumed we didn't really have one and said a lost card would cost RM20. Senang cerita, mudahkan lah orang, kenape nak menyusahkan orang. Dah tahu itu holiday area, orang akan keluar berjalan-jalan, balik penat-penat dah cuba explain tapi tak percaya, disuruh pulak bawak access card depan mata dia? Cannot make sense, sumpah! Kalau betul I hilangkan access card, ITU BETWEEN I DGN OWNER, bkn dgn GUARD. Of course I follow rules everywhere, but if I had actually lost the card, that would be between me and the owner, not the guard. I will never book this homestay again.

A quiet, pleasant place for an Airbnb stay, with clean grounds and guards at the secured complex. Restaurants and shops are close by.

This old apartment felt neglected, with room facilities either unrepaired or poorly maintained. The water heater didn't work, and the toilet flush was unusable because its pump was damaged. The sofa was worn, its fabric looked torn, and springs bulged out. There were no spare keys for visitors, and the door squeaked. There's no elevator, and the staircases are so high that carrying a bicycle is difficult. They also don't provide WiFi, something I've had at every hotel, cheap or expensive. They offer Astro and a mahjong table instead. Worst family accommodation I've experienced. I don't recommend staying here.

The building is a bit aged, but it's easy to find and the location is nice. The scenery is beautiful, and the weather is cool.
