The facilities and location are both excellent, and the room itself was excellent too. After dinner, we came back to find it had been serviced again. They’d even placed bottled water and glasses by the bed, a small touch that mattered. Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur went beyond the usual once-a-day housekeeping. We checked in yesterday and ran into an issue because of a misunderstanding in the booking website description. The front desk officer escalated it to his manager right away, and the team sorted it out efficiently and professionally. Their genuine effort to make us comfortable made us feel valued. This is the kind of service expected from a world-class five-star hotel.

This was one of my best hotel stays, mainly because the staff seemed so dedicated to making guests happy. I stay at many hotels every year, and I’d give the service and staff 7 stars if I could. The hotel manager Blaise Montandon came to see us, and after chatting with him, I understood why the service was so exceptional. Chef Goh Ti Cheong also checked in with us every day about my wife’s dietary requirements, making sure she didn’t feel left out. We were greeted by name each morning at breakfast. During our stay in July 2023, the family room we’d booked triggered dust allergies for two of us. That was disappointing, given the Four Seasons reputation. Assistant manager Tan told us to go to dinner and said it would be sorted by the time we got back. She upgraded our rooms, and they were perfect. The staff’s attitude seemed to start at the top.

The property is grand and the amenities are top-tier, but it has no character and no signature scent. Even Westin or Pavilion Mall manages that. Cleanliness also isn’t a strong point. For this caliber and price, I expected more finesse and something memorable. There was nothing that left a lasting impression. I’m not sure this can really be called service. It didn’t feel personal, and the hospitality was barely noticeable. Staff ignored the Do Not Disturb sign and entered while I was in the shower, which was unacceptable. Laundry never arrived, and basic requests to replenish toiletries were missed. Getting a bucket of ice took two visits, first to collect the bucket and then to bring it back filled, and nearly 20 minutes. I was very confused. My calls went unanswered for about 10 minutes, so I rang the emergency line. Even then, no one came to handle my request. When I followed up with the operator, frustrated, she raised her voice and insisted it was the first she’d heard of it. For a hotel presenting itself as this luxurious, the experience was astonishing. I’ve had much better stays at Four POINTS, at a fraction of the price. “Disappointing” doesn’t cover it.

The leisure facilities were a real highlight: a serene infinity pool overlooking the city, a well-equipped and well-kept fitness centre, and a calm, rejuvenating spa that felt like a sanctuary after a long day exploring Kuala Lumpur. The hotel’s location is unbeatable, beside the iconic Petronas Twin Towers and Suria KLCC, which worked well for both leisure and business. From my room, the views were breathtaking, especially at sunset when the skyline seemed to glow. The hotel blends luxury, comfort, and exemplary service in a way that lives up to the Four Seasons name. I was welcomed with warmth and professionalism. My room was spacious, beautifully appointed, and impeccably clean, with elegant furnishings, cutting-edge technology, and thoughtful touches like fresh fruit, a handwritten note, and perfectly replenished amenities. Every staff member I met was attentive without being intrusive and seemed to anticipate needs with ease. The concierge team deserves particular praise for its efficiency and local insight. They arranged restaurant recommendations, taxis, and even last-minute shopping tips with effortless charm. Dining was another highlight. Curate serves a wonderful breakfast selection, from traditional Malaysian delicacies to international favourites, all beautifully presented and full of flavour. Afternoon tea at The Lounge was indulgent, with fine teas, delicate pastries, and picturesque views across the park. For an elegant evening, Bar Trigona is a must-visit, stylish and atmospheric, with award-winning cocktails made using sustainable local ingredients.
