There were cockroaches everywhere, and I wouldn’t consider this suitable for children or a large group. The bedsheets smelled, and cleanliness was poor. We also found the cleaning supplies incomplete, with no mop, pail, or garbage bags, and the cooking accessories were lacking. The water heater was centralized, so hot water ran out quickly and took a long time to heat again.

There’s no WiFi or other amenities, but the apartment is spacious enough to share with a group and feels like good value. You can walk to town, the bus station, and plenty of restaurants.

In the Carmelia block, the apartment didn’t match what the listing photos led me to expect, especially the white bedsheets pictured on Agoda. There was no WiFi, one bathroom sink leaked, and the soft bed sagged when I lay down. The doors slam loudly and the sound insulation is poor. It felt badly maintained, so check carefully before booking.

There were no towels, iron, or hairdryer. I’ve never booked a hotel or homestay anywhere that didn’t provide towels, and I found it disgusting. The owner didn’t want to tell us ahead of time, so we could rent his iron and hairdryer. It felt stingy, and like he couldn’t be bothered to wash towels. Even the cabin I booked at CH provided them.
