There’s plenty of room to improve. The grounds could be made more accessible to foreign tourists, and more marketing could bring in a wider crowd, rich or not. With the cycling and off-road paths, small cycling competitions could work, and a mini golf course might appeal to more visitors. High-rise apartment-style rooms in the Rm280-Rm350 range and above could also be part of the plan.

I’ve been back to Mangala Resort three times already, because it feels like such a peaceful, green escape from the city, just 2.5 hours from Kuala Lumpur. The whole estate is beautifully kept, the staff are warm and welcoming, the food is fantastic, and the spa is divine. I wish I’d had longer to try more activities. So far I’ve done archery and kayaking, both great, and the salt-water pool is very nice too. I highly recommend the Vana Villas. They’re spacious and thoughtfully designed, and the bathroom is a dream, especially that lovely outdoor shower. Try the oxtail soup and scallop salad too, they’re my two favorites. It’s a perfect place to slow down and breathe a little deeper.

The price felt a bit high at first, since it isn’t on a hilltop or by a mountain view, river, backwater boat, waterfall or nature lake. But once I got into the room, my mood changed. The staff gave five-star hospitality. The Amani villa has a private pool, with cool water during the day and slightly warmer water at night. Some selected activities have a fee. Dinner and breakfast were really good, and room service is available. It’s a peaceful private property where you can relax, suitable for honeymoon couples and families with kids.

We had a great time at the Amani Villa with its pool, and booking it was definitely the right call. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the service and atmosphere were great. We also enjoyed the paddle boats, cycling and archery. A relaxing staycation here is easy to recommend to couples and families.
