Hotel Mokozoyo

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and I slept peacefully both nights after a long journey. My room was bright, spacious, clean, and comfortable. I only needed to open the curtains a little. The water pressure was strong, and both the heater and air conditioning worked well. The location is handy for local must-eats and getting around. A great stay before heading home.

The three restaurants on site were a nice extra. I ate at The Sandwich Bar and got a 10% discount as a hotel guest. I was also worried before booking about bar noise, since some reviews mentioned it, but even over a weekend my room stayed peaceful and I slept well. As a solo traveler, I found Hotel Mokozoyo in Penang comfortable, convenient, and good value. The room was clean and comfortable after days of exploring, and the price felt right for the quality. I could walk to the famous Penang street art, Cheong Fatt Tze - The Blue Mansion, and the 1st Avenue shopping mall, which made exploring on my own feel simple and safe. I'd happily recommend it as an easy base in Penang, and I'll come back on my next visit.

This place has a great vibe, from the design throughout the hotel to the dining and drinks. I love the look of the rooms. On arrival, check-in was at an open, hut-like office at the side, with some cats there to welcome me. Instead of requesting a wake-up call at reception, you get a sort of kampung-style alarm from the chickens, which I found rather nice. There are a couple of issues: the bathroom needs more attention, with mold in the silicone between the glass and dirty marks on the ceiling. Also, the main door has no acoustic seal.

Comfortable and safe, and tucked away from the noise while still an easy walk from Little India. This is a stylish, modern boutique hotel with professional staff, and it's clean and well maintained. It isn't a fancy five-star place with room service, but I'd rather stay here than somewhere overpriced and pompous. My pick in the Georgetown area of Penang. Highly recommended! 😁
