At 40RM a night for a couple, the room was cheap, and buses to the center take around 30 minutes. But the smell kept shifting between moldy and just foul. There was no window, the walls were stained, and the bedsheets had cigarette burns. The room started to feel like a refuge from the dirty bathrooms and the men spitting, coughing, and throwing up. If you can afford somewhere else, go there.

I was in Penang for medical check-ups and had a pleasant stay at Lemon Inn. The place was clean and very good value. The staff were wonderful, and I’ll keep coming back. Thanks again.

A nice staff and a clean room with fresh sheets make this a good budget stay for the price. The pillows were comfortable, though the mattress was really hard. I know locals prefer it that way. I’d recommend it if you like a very firm bed.

The stay was nice, but two guests should be given two keys. One person may need to remain in the room while the other goes out. The room key has to stay attached in the room, and the downstairs entrance is usually closed, so you need a key to get into the hotel.

Liverpool Nasi Lemak is only 200-300m from the inn, which is handy if you like it. The location seems especially convenient for people visiting Lam Wah Ee Hospital for medical reasons, and the room rates are reasonable.
