Nice Inn

The room was on the small side, and for that price there weren’t even basics like toothbrushes. They also require a deposit. I’d pay a bit more for a better hotel.

Really nice place. The room was clean and comfortable, and the shower had good water pressure. The owner was friendly and easy to deal with. The location is strategic, with many famous places in Penang nearby.

The location was pretty good, and it was cheap, though there are better Airbnbs for a similar price. It was also very noisy, with a KTV pub next door. If you want to hear off-key singing all night for free, this might suit you. The floor was dirty, and it got worse on the second day. A centipede showed up, which I managed to kill, then a cockroach crawled in a few minutes later. I killed that too and asked to switch rooms. The room on the third floor was worse: there were several cockroaches in the corridor, and one nearly got into the room. After killing about four or five, I decided to find different accommodation. If you’re after an unusual forest-like stay, this place comes highly recommended.

The owner is a good guy and sorted out the issues we had. The rooms are basic, but fair for the price. The bathroom smelled odd, though that seems common around here, and the shower’s position means the floor gets wet. There were rats in the roof, but the owner was in the process of fixing that. It’s an easy walk to Armenian street and Love Lane, about 20 minutes away. We enjoyed our stay, but look elsewhere if you want more luxury.
