I booked in Georgetown because I wanted to experience the Penang Miao Hui festival. It’s more like a very small boutique hotel, and I think the stay could’ve been better if the owner’s daughter at the front desk had been having a better day.

The hotel sits beside car parks and is close to plenty of amenities and good restaurants. It was also quiet and felt safe, and I enjoyed walking around outside at night. The service was attentive and good. This small boutique hotel occupies two restored early nineteen century shop houses in a newly revived corner of Seven streets Precinct along Lebuh Noordin. They’ve turned the first floor into two levels with a handful of rooms. The place is neat, and the rooms are clean and cozy, though not very large. The bed was firm, the pillows were great, and there’s a dispenser with hot and cold water on the first floor. The rooms were plenty good for a night’s sleep.

There’s no hotel guest parking set aside. Even though there’s a “reserved carpark”, you end up sharing it with pickleball players, so you have to find street parking and pay for it yourself.
