The Boutique Residence Hotel Penang

The accommodation seemed spacious and comfortable at first, but the hotel is badly worn, with peeling paint and tired finishes everywhere. The single-glazed windows let in so much noise it feels like sleeping outdoors. Two mosques are within 100 meters, so calls to prayer wake you at 5 a.m. and again at 6 a.m., with no way to avoid them. Getting a good night's sleep just isn't possible. There's also a strong durian smell from the shops that open onto the lobby, and it spreads through the shared areas. The place may have potential, but its poor condition, lack of soundproofing, and unpleasant surroundings ruined the stay.

The two-level room gives you loads of space, and the hotel is right by the street art, so it's handy for wandering around and exploring. It's clean and tidy, with a small indoor pool and plenty of restaurants nearby. The staff really go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Special mention to Ravi, who keeps the hotel in great working order. I'd highly recommend The boutique Residence.

Ravi was so helpful and accommodating, and the family room was spacious, with a lovely hot shower. The beds were comfortable, the location was great, and the price was very reasonable. We had everything we needed and would definitely come back.

Ravi and the rest of the team made the stay feel warm and personal, and were attentive to what we needed. The rooms were clean, stylish, and comfortable. It's also a great base for exploring Georgetown. I had a wonderful stay at The Boutique Residence Hotel and would definitely recommend it for a welcoming stay in Penang.
