The rooms are spacious and the rates are budget friendly. The building is historic, with squeaky floors and mottled walls, though it has modern replacement doors. The room didn’t come with a towel, but reception offered one for free when asked. There were no TV channels, even though the flat screen TV worked, and no kettle. It also wasn’t as attractive as the booking site pictures. One cockroach ran across the floor as I opened the door, and from my upstairs room I could see the ground floor through a gap in the floor.

I liked how easy it was to find food nearby, and Komtar is very close. The staff were friendly, and there was a basic breakfast included. The building feels old, though, and parking is limited. You can also feel the wooden upper floor bounce when someone next door walks heavily.

For RM 68 a night, the price was low, and the staff were friendly. The central location worked well for me, and having parking was a plus. The room was very old and didn’t match the website photos. There was no toilet door, so someone had to wait outside while another person used it.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and we didn’t run into any problems. Staff were warm and helpful, too. Breakfast had toast with butter and jam alongside Asian choices, plus fresh coffee and tea. We had a great time at this heritage hotel.

The photos were a fair match for the room, but it wasn’t clean. There were no toiletries, just towels, and those looked pretty old. If you’re after a heritage experience, a single night might suit you. I wouldn’t recommend it otherwise.
