Victoria Garden Hotel

I’ve stayed here several times and usually had good experiences, but this visit was very disappointing. During the night shift on 1/3-2/3/2026, I asked for a shower gel top-up and clarification about late checkout charges. The staff member was rude. When I calmly commented on his attitude, he rolled his eyes and waved me off. I reported it to management. They said they’d speak to him, but I’m still waiting for an apology and proper follow-up. This has affected my confidence about returning.

The room was sold and named as a “Super King Room,” but when I arrived, it had a regular King bed. Both the hotel and Agoda insisted the listing was accurate when I challenged it. If the room name specifies a bed type, that’s what should be provided. It felt like a bait-and-switch hidden in the fine print. Avoid it if bed size matters to your booking decision.

The location is decent, close to the esplanade and chew jetty, but the staff weren’t friendly. We had to ask them to make up our room. The aircon button wasn’t obvious, and the TV picture quality was poor. Internet access was limited to two devices. What hotel puts a device limit on it???????

The hotel sits on quieter Victoria street, so you can get some peace from traffic and noise, even though it’s in a prime spot in town. There’s plenty of good food and cafes within walking distance. The room was cozy and clean, and this hotel is quietly exceeding expectations for its price range.
