The gardens were lovely, and we could see gardeners watering plants and clearing dead leaves all the time. Birds and monkeys were around too, and during our boat trip we had a fantastic guide and spotted an elephant, eagles, and a snake. The area feels like a real nature resort. We'd been unsure about booking because the reviews varied so much, but from the Netherlands we decided to go for the huge infinity pool, the 3D2N package with a full day boat trip, and the location, which was easy enough to reach by road. No regrets. The welcome was warm and the staff were kind. Our Tualang villa by the water was beautiful, with lots of wood and a traditional feel. If you get the chance, stay there. We worried about mosquitoes since we'd forgotten our 40% Deet, but got only a few small bites. We had more on Penang. The pool looked even better than in the photos, and was lovely after a long drive or boat ride. The road noise wasn't as bad as we feared. Trucks passed now and then, and the bridge is quite an infrastructure project, but we liked it. The food was good, especially the buffet at Hornbill, where outside guests and locals also eat. The package included one dinner there and another at the snack restaurant by the water. We'd heard plenty about the food and didn't expect George Town quality, but the local nasi at the snackbar was fine too. The no-alcohol rule sounded like a drawback, but once there, I didn't miss it. We'll never forget the stay. Thank you!

The staff were lovely throughout, from reception and dining to security and the gardeners. They were friendly, professional, kind, and helpful. Our Chengal apartment was spacious and cool, simply done in polished concrete and tile, with lovely linen and plenty of surface space for our things. The beds were large and comfortable, and it had a fridge, TV, coffee maker, and kettle. WiFi was fast. Breakfast was a highlight, with a wide choice of good quality food. At lunch and dinner, the kitchen sometimes swapped small items without telling us or asking first. We went along with it and enjoyed what came. The resort is attractive, though a main road used by lorries runs close by. The hill behind muffles some of the noise, but the road bridge and power lines slightly spoil the lake view. The bridge itself isn't unattractive, and the lake among the forested hills is still very scenic. Just don't expect a truly wild setting.

We were thrilled to watch a herd of elephants bathing and feeding in the wild right in front of us. The people of aborigines also gave us tongkat ali and delicious soursoup, and the Sup kambing at the hornbill restaurant was another highlight. Thanks for having us. It was a pleasant, memorable stay. Mr Hafiz was an attentive and helpful tour guide, and our meeting with him at Matta Fair earlier this year was one reason we came. Thanks again, and see you next time.

What I liked most was the choice of things to do, from nature walks and boat rides to other outdoor activities. The stay at Royal Belum Resort was peaceful, with beautiful natural surroundings, welcoming staff, and well-kept facilities. It was a wonderful experience, and I'd recommend it to anyone after a relaxing, fun getaway.

Our motorcycle convoy stopped at Belum Rainforest Resort for just 20 minutes, but that short break felt refreshing and peaceful. The whole team got a chance to relax before continuing the ride, surrounded by greenery and the rainforest's natural beauty. The surroundings seemed well cared for, and the resort makes a beautiful retreat where nature, calm, and hospitality come together. Congratulations to BELUM RAINFOREST RESORT. It really felt like a hidden gem.
