Bedrock Hotel

There are quirky paintings and artwork all around this unique hotel. We spent one night here as a family of four. Our room was spacious, with a little staircase leading to the second floor, and had a comfortable queen bed and two singles. They even put a Coway water filter in the room. The lift is small but fit all four of us and our bags. Check-in was quick, and the owner and staff were friendly. The walkway lighting was dim, and there was a slight old-stuff smell. Breakfast was just alright, with bread, sandwiches, oats, hot drinks, and two menu choices, Western or local. A nice place to stay overall.

The room and service felt like a full boutique hotel, and the owner was very friendly while the staff were courteous. Shops, activities, and food are all within walking distance, no more than 15 minutes away. A+ for the location, 10/10 from me. Highly recommended.

The decor made the room lovely, though the window didn’t offer any fancy view, which was fine. Breakfast was simple and tasty, and the Ipoh coffee was really yummy. The owners were attentive and made us feel at home. She lent me a guidebook that helped me get better ideas about Ipoh. I’d booked two different room types based on Agoda’s suggestion, and they kindly let me upgrade the first night from deluxe to a suite. I really appreciated that. Chat GPS pointed me here because it had a higher Google Maps rating, and the stay felt like a luxury suite with a bed-and-breakfast feel. One thing I suggested to Agoda: the RM3 state service fee should be charged when booking and paying. The AI chat service only said to pay it on site. I’d recommend this hotel.

The only drawback was parking. There are just a few reserved spots for guests, and parking is off the street with no shade. Otherwise, it was very clean, and we were in the newly extended building across the road. The room and toilet were roomy, with plates, a coffee machine, tea, and hot and cold water dispenser. It stayed quiet even though the hotel was fully booked. Restaurants and attractions are an easy walk away, and breakfast was great for a boutique hotel. Strong shower pressure too, which is good for long hair.
