The room decor was decent, and for a budget hotel I wasn’t expecting much from the room or location. I just needed somewhere to sleep and rest during a short trip to Ipoh. Self check-in and a 3pm check-in time were fine, but the receptionist was really rude on the phone. It felt like I owed her a million dollars or was interrupting her shopping. Calls or messages with her could be a real nuisance during the trip 😂

The room was fairly spacious, but the cleanliness and front desk service were poor. The admin said early check-in would be fine, then when I arrived the room wasn’t ready and I had to wait until 3pm, the usual check-in time. There was a cockroach, and the pillow had stains. I told the receptionist, who said it would be changed, but the replacement was stained too. Nothing special here, so don’t expect much.

The room and toilet were reasonably clean, and the place felt cozy and private. It’s quite far from town, though. Some room types have a bathtub, but not all. Thanks for the service, CJ house.

At CJ House Station 18, I had a very unpleasant interaction with one of the staff members. She raised her voice while I was speaking with her, then abruptly ended the call before I’d got answers to my query. I found that rude and unprofessional, and it reflects badly on the establishment. Whatever personal difficulties she may have, they shouldn’t be taken out on customers. It’s hard to understand why someone who treats guests this way is still working there. This sort of conduct could drive customers away and damage the business’s reputation. I urge management to act promptly and make sure staff get proper training and screening. If this keeps happening, I’ll discourage others from visiting CJ House Station 18.
